Thiago Messi, Age 10

Meet Thiago Messi – the first born son of Leo and Antonela.  He was born on November 2, 2012.  He is often seen alongside his mother and two brothers cheering his father on whether he is playing for his home team of Argentina or in the US at his newest venture with Inter Miami.

Will he follow in his father’s footsteps?  Leo was once quoted as saying, “I don’t buy him many balls or force him to play with them because he doesn’t like them that much.”  However, that seems to have changed.

Thiago began playing with Barcelona’s academy from 2004 to 2021.

Most recently, it was announced that Thiago will join Inter Miami’s U-12 Academy Team as one of the 35 newcomers in the club for the 2023-2024 season.

Mateo Messi, Age 8

Mateo Messi is Leo and Antonela’s second born son.  He was born on September 11, 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

Antonela posted a photo of Mateo on his birthday, turning 8 years old as he is seen in an Inter Miami jersey.  “Happy birthday boy. We love you infinitely Matu,” she captioned the photo.  She went on to say, “8 years of stealing hearts.”

He too, similar to his older brother Thiago appears to have a love for soccer.  They all want to be like dad.  Mateo is said to have quite a competitive spirit like his father Leo did as a kid growing up.

“He likes to win,” Leo is quoted as saying.

All eyes may have been on Leo Messi during the World Cup, but his son also garnered some attention while in the stands with his mom.  At one point, he was captured on video from a fan throwing a lollipop into the crowd.  As soon as Antonela realized what he did, she grabbed his arm and was seen disciplining him.

Fans online were quick to comment, “that boy is Argentine from head to toe!”

For his 7th birthday, Mateo and Antonela threw him a bash- soccer themed of course!  The family took advantage of picture opportunities in front of the cool party decorations where his name was very visibly displayed on the wall behind them.

Meet Ciro Messi

Ciro Messi is the youngest son of Leo and Antonela.  He was born on March 10, 2018.  Like his brother, Ciro was also born in Spain.

On March 10, his mom posted a before and after photo of her baby boy writing, “Happy Birthday Ciro. Forever our Baby.”

Leo Messi’s Fan Club on Twitter is declaring Messi’s youngest son to rival him, saying “Ciro Messi will be the next greatest Messi to play football.”  Watch this goal scored.

Seeing as how he has two older brothers to look up to in addition to a soccer superstar father, how could this kid not follow in the footsteps of greatness?
