Selling Sunset’s Davina Potratz Leaves Oppenheim Group

  • by

It’s the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one for Davina Potratz. The Selling Sunset star is exiting her job with the Oppenheim Group after almost 3 years. Get more details on Davina’s exit below, as well as what it could mean for her future on the Netflix show.

Why is Davina leaving?

Davina Potratz told PEOPLE Magazine that it was purely “a business decision” to leave her employer, the Oppenheim Group. She will be joining rival real estate agency Douglas Elliman out of Beverly Hills, California.

Even though it’s a rival business, there’s no bad blood between Davina Potratz and her former boss, Jason Oppenheim. Jason said that Davina’s a friend “whose career decisions I very much respect and support,” and he hopes they can work together in the future.

As for her new job? Davina was made an offer she just couldn’t refuse, plus one that’s more aligned with her skill set. Potratz will be a part of Douglas Elliman’s new global development team, where she’ll be able to use her skills in new development sales and marketing.

The news of Davina’s departure from the Oppenheim Group comes only a couple months after news that Jason’s twin brother, Brett, left the Oppenheim Group to start his own brokerage firm.

So, what does this mean for Selling Sunset?

Davina, who originally began as a recurring cast member in season 1 of the show, wasn’t the most well-liked person. She was actually known as one of the more villainous characters, especially on social media. While she may have been quite polarizing, her appearances made for good drama on the Netflix series.

So, what does her departure from the Oppenheim Group mean for her future on Selling Sunset? Well, if the show does get picked up for a fourth season, Davina hopes she’d still be a part of the cast.

She said that they (meaning the rest of the her castmates) haven’t filmed anything in terms of new content, because everything’s so up in the air right now due to the pandemic. Though Chrishell Stause did spark rumors when she tagged Netflix in an Instagram Story back in August with “good news.” She also told US Weekly that if they did start filming anything, it wouldn’t be until next year.

She’s grown to like working with her Selling Sunset co-stars — Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, Christine Quinn, and Maya Vander — and they’ve all been so supportive of each other in their personal lives or other endeavors.
