Lucia Micarelli and Michael Rady star in “The Christmas Bow,” a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Original movie, airing Sunday November 8th.
Lucia plays Kate, a promising musician whose dream is to play in the Rocky Mountain Philharmonic. However, that dream is put on hold when Kate suffers a sudden accident. When Kate reconnects with Patrick (Rady), an old friend of the family and his cousin Gavin, she may also find love in someone who truly believes in her.
In “The Christmas Bow,” we see Kate appear to be a very skilled violinist. Many of our readers are wondering, is Kate a real professional violinist or is it all just for the movie?
Kate played by Lucia Micarelli is in fact a real life professional violinist! She is best known for her collaborations with Josh Groban, Chris Botti, and Jethro Tull. Lucia was born in Queens, New York and began playing the violin at the tender age of three.
She is classically trained, having studied at the esteemed Julliard and the Manhattan School of Music in NY. Lucia was even a concertmaster with the Trans Siberian Orchestra in their 2003 tour, according to Wikipedia.
Watch Lucia play “Emmanuel” with Chris Botti in Boston for PBS.
