John Stamos is a celebrity mentor on American Idol, and the next all-new episode features him during Disney Night. Being a big Disney fan himself, it’s the perfect episode for John to be a part of. He’s also an accomplished musician, having played with legends like The Beach Boys. So, what kind of advice did he give to contestants based on all his experience? Find out what John had to say below.
John Stamos on being a mentor: “I came up with some stuff that will help their performance”
John sat down with American Idol cameras to discuss his strategy. He’s “fascinated with the fearlessness” that the contestants bring to their performances. John likes how “touching” their backstories are, and he “hopes that will inspire” others.
“Being authentic and being true to who you are,” John told cameras, is the key. The Idol contenders have to “believe that [they’re] enough.” They’re good enough, interesting enough, and talented enough – that’s the advice he wants them to remember. He’s looking forward to seeing if any of the contestants took his advice to heart.
John also is a huge fan of the setting. Disney has that magic touch: “There’s nothing else like it,” he said. Check out a few photos from the episode below!
