Joey McIntyre Says NKOTB and New Edition Performance is 30 Years in the Making

  • by

New Kids on the Block is teaming up with New Edition for a very special performance on the 2021 American Music Awards on ABC tonight.

Both of these iconic bands hail from Boston! Youngest bandmate of New Kids on the Block, Joey McIntyre is especially grateful for this recent collab. He confessed on Instagram that earlier this week he “sobbed” to bandmate, Donnie Wahlberg on the phone about getting to perform with one of their biggest influences.

“They are so intrisically connected to my childhood and my life,” McIntyre said. “I do what I do because of the leadership of Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike,” he continued.

@nkotb,” he wrote. His son Griffin was one of the first to comment on his father’s post, writing “The boys are looking good.”
