How Vanessa and Nick Lachey Avoid Uncomfortable Political Conversations for the Holidays

  • by

Nick Lachey recently hosted the ABC Disney Christmas special and his wife was just on Dancing with the Stars with Nick. Now the mom of three is sharing some very special holiday treats she enjoys!

One of the big ones is Baileys Original Irish Cream. She calls it her Holly-Day Hot Chocolate. Check out the recipe below:

Ingredients:
2 oz. Baileys Original Irish Cream
1 oz. hazelnut and pomegranate puree
2 oz. hot chocolate (brewed with mint leaves and white and milk chocolate and cinnamon)
Chocolate sauce for rim
Whipped cream, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, mint leaves and pomegranate seeds for garnish

Preparation:
Combine Baileys Original Irish Cream, hazelnut and pomegranate puree, and hot chocolate in a cocktail shaker and give a good shake.
Strain liquid into a mug rimmed with chocolate sauce.
Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon sticks.
Add mint leaves and pomegranate seeds to resemble holly, for that extra festive touch, and enjoy!

Ideal serve: Large coffee mug

In her interview with Yahoo she was asked how she handles difficult or uncomfortable situations while entertaining and if politics are a no-no when family/friends are over. Vanessa’s thoughts are the more the merrier. She also said “We only have people over who are respectful of our family and our house, so if they bring someone, they must always be respectful as well.”

Since she is married to 98 Degrees frontman, Nick Lachey the question had to be asked if they listen to the old 98 Degrees Christmas album and which song is their favorite. Vanessa exclaimed, “We listen to it multiple times a day and the kids know all the words. The song they love to sing and dance together to? “Season of Love.”

Vanessa and Nick are planning for some pretty full holidays and now Vanessa just made yours that much sweeter with her special recipe!
