With the season 3 premiere of Siesta Key coming up, we’re taking a look at another potential couple that’ll be heating up TV screens this winter: Kelsey Owens and Jake Petersen. The Siesta Key OG and the new guy in town caught each other’s eyes during filming, but where do they stand now? Keep reading for all the details!
Kelsey and Jake met through Kelsey’s work with Rebella, a social media influencer agency. You see, Jake and Juliette Porter’s ex, Robby Hayes run it together. Kelsey and Jake apparently hit it off relatively quick, as they each made appearances on each other’s Instagrams.
Now, you may remember that Kelsey had a boyfriend – Jacob Wilson – during the last season of Siesta Key. The two broke up prior to season 3 filming, so she was single and definitely ready to mingle. Feeling the Vibe previously reported that Jake caught Kelsey’s attention, but was that enough?
Maybe, considering throughout the summer, both Jake and Kelsey posted photos of each other to social media, albeit the majority of them were group photos (a few of which you can see below).
The interesting thing comes from Jake’s IG post though, which he captioned: “You make me feel what I’d imagine Chik-fil-a operating on Sundays would feel like.” The boomerang video shows he and Kelsey laughing, before presumably posing for a photo together. You can see it for yourself below:
While Jake’s sweet Instagram post was posted in September, it’s tricky to say if that was his way of making their relationship public or not. Kelsey has yet to post an Instagram of just the two of them – but she did post one of she and her ex-boyfriend, Garrett Miller.
Course, who could blame her? Her previous relationships haven’t exactly worked out in the spotlight, so perhaps if she and Jake did have a summer fling, or still have some sparks now, who’s to say she wants the whole world to know?
The two do appear to be flirty, that we know for sure based on Kelsey’s Instagram comments on Jake’s, as well as Juliette’s photos of their Siesta Key group. Guess we’ll just have to see how their relationship plays out when Siesta Key season 3 premieres Jan. 7 at 8/7 c on MTV.
