The Hallmark Channel is winding down on their Countdown to Christmas Movie event with the premiere of an all-new movie, A Christmas Carousel. Hallmark has been going strong with a recent lineup of successful movies including If I Only Had Christmas starring Candace Cameron Bure, Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing Starring Holly Robinson Peete, and more. Let’s dive in to learn more about A Christmas Carousel, including who’s who in the cast, what it’s about, and even see a trailer!
A Christmas Carousel stars Rachel Boston as Lila and Neal Bledsoe as Prince Whitaker. You will recognize Rachel Boston from SEAL Team and Bledsoe from shows such as NCIS: New Orleans and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Lila (Boston) and her dad Roy (Stuart Hughes) have a special talent at restoring carousels to their former glory. When the father-daughter team are hired by the royal family of Ancadia, they are put on a special mission – to restore their Carousel to its original luster as a gift for Prince Whitaker’s niece. Lila’s first impression of “Whit” as he likes to be called isn’t the best, but is a first impression everything? She quickly sees another side of him she just might like.
With Whit taking over the restoration project, he and Lila work together while connecting over their love for the arts. The more time they spend with one another, the closer they become and feelings start to develop.
When Lila starts believing Prince Whitaker’s royal duty is encouraging him to announce his engagement to someone from the royal world, she feels she is no longer needed there and decides to return home as soon as possible. But not so fast, an earlier wish made on the carousel may prove to be the Christmas magic she was needing to bring true love together.
