We were excited when the news came out about the reboot of the 80’s sitcom, ‘Punky Brewster.’
Not only is the lead, Soleil Moon Frye who made Punky famous reviving her role but another special girl will also be back. Who remembers Cherie, Punky’s best girl friend in the show? The original role was played by actress, Cherie Johnson.
She indeed will be back, joining her old friend Soleil on the set of ‘Punky Brewster.’

The series, ‘Punky Brewster’ is currently in pre-production. It will be airing on a new service called Peacock created by NBC. It is a free premium ad supported streaming service with subscription tiers.
Soleil was most recently seen in Lifetime’s Christmas movie, “Staging Christmas” as well as POP TV’s “Hollywood Darlings” starring Jodie Sweetin of Full House.
What has Cherie Johnson Been Doing?
You definitely know her best from playing Cherie on ‘Punky Brewster’ in 1985. You also saw her in 90’s family sitcom, ‘Family Matters’ starring Jaleel White. However, she has continued to act over the years.
She was in The Intruders, The Perfect Wife, Reborn and more.
Cherie was born on November 21, 1975 which makes her 44 years old. She has one child.
