Who’s in the Top 4 on American Idol Tonight – May 16, 2021?

American Idol is winding down as the top 4 contestants take the stage this Sunday. On May 16, the remaining contestants will perform two songs by FINNEAS, who will mentor them too. In addition to singing two of his songs, they will be performing two more songs each. According to ABC’s official press release, “one song will be inspired by their personal idol and the second song will be the debut of their new, recently recorded winner’s single, each produced by a renowned music producer.” Not only is FINNEAS the celebrity guest mentor this week, but he’s also performing “Till Forever Falls Apart” with Ashe. Who is in American Idol‘s Top 4?

Though American Idol had announced the top 5 contestants last week, Caleb Kennedy has been taken out of the running after a controversial video resurfaced. Now, the remaining top 4 are:

  • Willie Spence
  • Grace Kinstler
  • Casey Bishop 
  • Chayce Beckham

In this week’s episode, the top 4 will perform 4 songs total: 2 from FINNEAS, one from their personal idol, and one original single. According to Billboard, the contestants will be paired up to sing FINNEAS’ songs. Casey Bishop and Chayce Beckham will be paired to sing “Break My Heart Again”; Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence will be paired to sing “What They’ll Say About Us.”

Casey will perform “wish you were gay” by Billie Eilish (FINNEAS’ younger sister), and her original song is “Love Me, Leave Me.” Chayce is performing “Colder Weather” by Zac Brown Band, and his original track is called “23.” Grace chose “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson as her personal idol song; her original single is “Love Someone.” Last, but not least, Willie is performing “Glory” by John Legend and Common; his original is “Never Be Alone.”

Ahead of the episode, the cover art for each of the top 4’s original singles have been revealed. Grace Kinstler shared hers on Instagram, writing: “‘Love Someone’ out NOW on ALL streaming platforms!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 Link in bio!!”

Willie Spence shared the awesome black and white cover art for his song “Never Be Alone,” captioning the photo with: “IT’S OUT NOW ‼️🎤✨ Go Stream my NEW Single “Never Be Alone” now on ALL Platforms!! Thanks again @trickystewart for producing an amazing record!”

For Casey Bishop’s new song “Love Me, Leave Me,” she shared a sneak peek of the track on her Instagram. The cover art is an edgy red and white, complete with her name and song title. She captioned it, saying “OUT FRIDAYYYYYY” meaning that it’s available on all music platforms, so you can listen to it before her performance on Sunday!

Like Willie and Grace, Chayce Beckham also has a black and white cover art for his single “23.” He wrote: “Available now. Thanks to the whole family who made this happen and all of you out there listening. All of my love 🖤.”
