From the big screen to Broadway, FOX and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative television is partnering up with film producer Marc Platt to put on a live musical of the well known film “A Christmas Story”. Musical composers, Benji Pasek and Justin Paul, are Tony Awards winners for popular movies like “Dear Evan Hansen” and writers of academy Award-winning song “City of Stars” in “La La Land” will be writing music for “A Christmas Story: The Musical”. Pasek and Paul will also be composing the music and lyrics live for the event as well.
“A Christmas Story Live” will be airing on the Fox network on December 17, 2017 from 7-10 p.m ET live/PT (tape-delayed). The musical is being produced by Warner Horizon Scripted & Alternative Television. The executive producer, Alex Rudzinski will be acting as the official live tv director.

“Saturday Night Live’s” Maya Rudolph will be playing the the mother of the young “Ralphie Parker”. Rudolph is an Emmy Award-nominated actress who has made a name for herself in Hollywood as a respected talented performer in various genres of comedy, drama and even music.
Alongside the talented Maya Rudolph is Matthew Broderick who is casted as the narrator of “Ralphie Parker”. He is most famously recognized for his starring role in the comedy “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” in that came out in 1986. Broderick’s last role on the big screen was in the film “Rules Don’t Apply,” directed by and starring Warren Beatty. His next major role will be in a movie with Chloe Sevigny and Aidan Turner called “Look Away”.
