‘Songland’ is not your typical music competition! This is not American Idol or The Voice. We’ve all heard the chart topping hits sung by amazing artists like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Mariah Carey but how are these songs made?
Every artist is looking for one thing – their next great song. That’s where ‘Songland‘ comes in. Talented songwriters will take the stage as they pitch their songs to top artists and producers to create the next big hit!

Let’s dive in and see which songwriters we will be meeting in the season premiere of ‘Songland‘ tonight on NBC.

Tebby Burrows – Born in Miami, Florida and raised in the tropical Bahamas. She started playing the guitar when she was 12 years old. Has performed at BB King’s Blues Club in NYC. Opened up for Grammy Award winning singer Joss Stone.

Max Embers – From a small town in Germany. Started learning to play classical piano at the young age of 6 years old. Wrote his first song at 13 years old. Is inspired by artists like John Mayer, Lianne La Havas and Coldplay. Wants to create honest, real and intimate songs.

Ollie Gabriel – Grew up in Southwest Louisiana. Started playing the piano and writing songs at 8 years old. Describes himself as a triple threat – Music maker, Fashion Killa, and Writer. Has a new single called ‘Something New.’ His music has been featured in shows like True Life, Dr Oz, Keeping Up with The Kardashians, and Dance Moms.
Each week one guest recording artist comes to “Songland” to hear unknown songwriters pitch their original material. Four songwriters will perform their original songs in front of the guest artist and three of the most successful music producers – Ryan Tedder (lead singer of OneRepublic), Ester Dean (Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj) and Shane McAnally (Grammy-winning songwriter and producer of Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson and Sam Hunt) will appear.
Tune into ‘Songland’ on NBC Tuesday, May 28th at 10-11pm EST. Also available on NBC streaming online.
