What can fans expect from the live season 14 premiere of Shark Tank?
As we mentioned above, Shark Tank is doing their first-ever live episode for the premiere of season 14. This occasion means that viewers will see everything in real-time, as it’s happening. This also means that anything can happen – which makes the season premiere especially anticipated. While the contestants have not been announced yet, safe to say whichever four products/companies are invited to participate in the television event will go down in Shark Tank history.
Something that has been announced though are the two newest guest sharks. Gwyneth Paltrow and Tony Xu will be guests on the season 14 panel. “A new season means new Guest Sharks! We are thrilled to welcome @gwynethpaltrow and Tony Xu to #SharkTank” the show’s official Instagram wrote.
Who are the guest sharks?
Gwyneth Paltrow is an actress, but she’s also broken into the business world as the founder and CEO of Goop. Launched in 2008, it originally began as a newsletter with new-age advice before growing into a multimillion dollar company that includes wellness and lifestyle products. A podcast and documentary series soon followed, and the company’s valued at $250 million.
Tony Xu is one of the founders and current CEO of the food delivery service DoorDash. Started while he and his 3 classmates were at Stanford University under Palo Alto Delivery, it became DoorDash in 2013, and has ranked ahead of apps like GrubHub and UberEats for consistency. Xu’s estimated net worth is $2.8 billion.
Gwyneth and Tony join original sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary, as well as returning guests Emma Grede, Peter Jones, Daniel Lubetzky and Kendra Scott.
Any other details?
Now, if you’re curious as to how filming goes for Shark Tank, then Supervising Casting Producer Mindy Zemrak has you covered. She recently posted an Instagram reel detailing a “day in the life” of the Shark Tank panel, including a little behind the scenes of the live episode. “Dancing into our live episode premiere on September 23🎬💰 Are you ready for a live episode?!” she wrote.
As you can see, the sharks don’t bite offscreen – they can have fun too! Barbara, Daymond, Kevin, Lori, Robert and Mark all dance around the Los Angeles set, walking down the famous runway before the video cuts to some of them chatting amongst each other. From the looks of it, they may have had a rehearsal going on, since there were a couple of people standing in front of Barbara at one point, plus a few more setting up around them.
That’s not the only video we have to share though. The official trailer for season 14 has dropped, featuring a look at some of the most successful companies from last year such as Kin Apparel and Electra. Check it out below:
By making this many dreams come true, it’s no wonder in 13 seasons of Shark Tank, there have been 700+ deals and over $8 billion in retail sales. With this live premiere, the sky’s the limit for season 14.
Be sure to watch the season 14 premiere live on Friday September 23, 2022 at 8 PM ET on ABC. You can stream the episode next day on demand or on Hulu.
