In a recent interview with with InStyle Magazine, Shailene Woodley expressed how “excited, honored, nervous, and curious” she is for the second season of her hit show Big Little Lies.

“When I’m watching Big Little Lies, I feel as if I’m as much an audience member as anyone else. When I do films, I see myself in almost every shot, but with this project, I take up five minutes, so I get to see story lines unfold,” the actress shared with InStyle.

Before the success of the HBO drama, Woodley was considering giving up acting. “There was a point in my life, right before Big Little Lies, where I had hit a wall with acting. I called my agents and said, ‘Please don’t send me any more scripts; I need to explore other avenues,” Woodley shared with Porter Edit last year.
Woodley also added that her agents respected her wishes and didn’t send any projects her way for almost a year. Once her agents discovered Big Little Lies they insisted she should look over the script since Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Kidman were involved.
Dern, who was also her co-star in The Fault in Our Stars, called her to encourage her to join the cast. After reading the script, Woodley was in love with it and returned to her passion for acting.

The second season of Big Little Lies will air on HBO on June 9th. Catch up on first season of the show on Amazon or Hulu.
