While a lot of couples on Selling Sunset are still going strong, one recently called it quits. Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim have split, and have each addressed the relationship change. Get details on their breakup below, including both of their statements.
Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim: a whirlwind romance
While both star on the hit Netflix series Selling Sunset, the two close friends upped their relationship status to a couple over the summer. Fun trips, great photos, and a lot of social media buzz surrounded their newly minted relationship back in July. When season 4 of Selling Sunset dropped in November, the duo were still together and stronger than ever, but that’s no longer the case.
Chrishell addressed the news on social media. She said: “Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward.”
Jason echoed her statement, writing: “While Chrishell and I are no longer together, we remain best friends and we will always love and support one another.” You can see both of their statements in full below.
The two have previously made headlines for other romantic entanglements. Chrishell dated DWTS pro Keo Motsepe last year, but it fizzled out after a while. Before that, she was married to This is Us star Justin Hartley. Jason was linked to Selling Sunset co-star Mary Fitzgerald, whom he dated prior to the Netflix show becoming a hit. Mary’s now married to Romain Bonnet.
Since the duo were friends first, it’s obvious they still have a lot of love and care for each other; a relationship just simply wasn’t working for them right now. Chrishell and Jason have both said how much they appreciate each other, so their friendship will remain strong.
