Childhood best friends turned entrepreneurs Zack Schreier and Nick Hamburger will be pitching their egg white chip snack on this week’s all-new episode of Shark Tank. Get more details about the unique product, including who’s already backing their idea, below.
What are Quevos? How was it created?
Quevos came to fruition when a now 22-year-old Zack realized he was missing out on all the good snack items due to his Type 1 diabetes. A few years back, with the help of his friend, Nick, the Windy City buddies began experimenting with different, healthier alternatives. When Zack recalled how he enjoyed the leftover crisps of an egg white omelette, he knew there had to be a way for that to crunch like a chip. Enter: Quevos, the first-ever egg white based chip snack.
Not only is it healthy, but it’s also low carb, making it popular amongst and perfect for keto dieters. It’s packed with pure protein – thanks to the egg whites – but has that bold flavor of a chip that everyone likes.
Currently, Quevos comes in sour cream & onion, dill pickle, quevos rancheros (a play off huevos rancheros), honey mustard, sweet barbecue, cheddar, as well as sea salt & cracked pepper. When you purchase the keto variety pack on their website, you get a sampling of the first four flavors.
You can also shop on Amazon, where you’ll find the remaining flavors. They are even found in select health food grocers or wellness stores. You can use their locater to search and see if they can be found in your area.
Any other details to know about Quevos on Shark Tank?
When Zack and Nick enter the shark tank, they’ll be faced with quite a few investors. But, one person’s attention they manage to catch? KIND Bars founder Daniel Lubetzky. According to the official press release, Daniel wants to help “introduce more people” to their “flavorful egg-white based chip.”
Seems like a match made in (business) heaven, as Lubetzky knows a thing or two about taking an idea and turning it into a billion-dollar empire. His KIND snack bars are one of the top-selling health foods in the world!
Plus, in the two years since their initial concept, Quevos has already captured the attention of major magazines, including Forbes and Women’s Health. Zack and Nick were even on Chicago’s local news station, The Jam, to promote their product.
Where Can I Buy Quevos?
Good news! Quevos chips are available on Amazon. You know what that means, they can be shipped directly to your door. Get a 5 flavored variety pack to try. Plus, they’re keto diet friendly!
From here, who knows. The sky’s the limit for these two bright entrepreneurs, so we’re sure the investors will see that too. To see how everything unfolds for Zack, Nick, and Quevos, be sure to tune in to the all-new episode of Shark Tank. It will air on Friday Jan. 22 at 8/7 c, only on ABC.
