SHARK TANK

Shark Tank is back with another new episode this week. On Friday April 2, a fresh lineup of entrepreneurs will dive into the tank and see if they can make a deal with one of the sharks. There are four businesses featured in the episode – including Phoozy, for example – that will pitch their products to the panel. So, what do these businesses sell? Who are the people behind the big ideas? Find all that and more out below.

Rebecca and Eric Romanucci are out to solve the problems that sometimes come with traditional deliveries. From people stealing packages to the frustrating “Sorry, we missed you” sign on the door, the duo has a solution: DynoSafe Delivery Lockbox.

What do they do?

Rebecca and Eric created the lockbox to be a temperature controlled container that attaches to your delivery. It provides contactless delivery, eliminates the need to open the door to strangers, and helps the user keep track of any changes or attempted modifications (i.e.: delays or theft). Plus, the app works with smart devices, so you don’t even have to be with the package to use it. All the delivery person has to do is enter the code and place the item inside. Then, the customer receives a notice; until they retrieve the items, it stays locked in the bin.

Where can you get it?

Currently, it’s only available on their website. But, there is one caveat: you have to join the waitlist to be notified of when/how you can get your own.

Phoozy

Kevin Conway is the mastermind behind the insulated device cases called Phoozy. The idea was born out of a common annoyance. His phone would overheat while he was driving – he used to be a professional race car driver! – or, it would shutdown in the freezing cold. Not the time you want a dead device on your hands. So, he wanted to invent something that would allow people to stay connected, no matter what the elements have to say about it.

What do they do?

The product uses thermal and float protection to keep your device safe from heat, cold, and yes, water. You read it right: even if you drop your phone in the water, it will stay afloat! Genius, right? The cases also provide military grade drop protection, because the last thing you need is a scratch on your nice iPhone! Even cooler? They have options for your tablet and laptop too!

Where can you get it?

Currently, you can shop their website, or buy on Amazon. They come in a wide array of colors or patterns, so there’s something for everyone.

StepNpull

In the era of COVID, no one wants to touch anything more than they have to. If they can avoid that completely? Even better. While eliminating the spread of germs was one of the original goals Mike Sewell, Ron Ely and Kelly Coddington had in mind, they had no idea their product would explode in 2020. The foot operated door opener has allowed everyone from small businesses or major corporations like Coca-Cola to run their companies smoothly, and, most importantly, germ-free.

What do they do?

The door opener is placed at the bottom of a door, and, like the name suggests, you step down on it slightly to use it. Easy enough, right? Not only does it eliminate access touching, but it also reduces waste – Mike found that a lot of his co-workers pre-StepNpull would use paper towels to avoid touching the door handle. Now, that problem is essentially eradicated.

Where can you get it?

You can shop on their website, or buy from Amazon. They come in quite a few colors, and different finishes.

The Probiotic Maker (Jugurt)

Probiotics are one of those buzzwords: you know it, and yet, most people don’t get enough of it. Instead of wasting money on store bought yogurt, make healthy probiotic-rich shakes, yogurts, etc. yourself! It’s precisely what Merrick Maxfield wanted to achieve with his invention: at home, easy to make, probiotics.

What do they do?

With one minute of prep time, you can DIY probiotics, and be on your way to some healthy, delicious food. All you do is add the starter pack (“seeds”), culture it (slide on the maker, and plug it in to leave overnight), and then it’s ready to enjoy. You can flavor your creation however you’d like – just let it cool, and you’ve got 11 fresh probiotics at your fingertips.

Where can you get it?

Currently, you can buy it on their website. The Probiotic Maker, and the starter pack(s), or seeds, are both available. Whether you’re on a low-carb, keto, fat-free, or favor milk alternatives, there’s something for everyone to love.
