The New Kids on the Block may have last dropped an album back in 2013, but it’s not the last time you’ve gotten new music from your favorite “boys in the band.”
Over the summer in honor of the COVID-19 pandemic, the guys released “House Party” where they filmed the entire music video in their homes and even invited a few special guests to appear. Today in an interview with RADIO.COM’s Karson from Mix 104.1 in Boston, the youngest member of the group Joey McIntyre dropped by virtually.
He had a lot of news to release. He brought up a cool idea that we know the blockheads would never deny – a New Kids on the Block Musical? Not so fast though, Joey confessed that he hasn’t even pitched the idea to the rest of the guys yet.
What would the musical be about? He would want the musical to portray how the band was seen through the lens of the fans. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Joey added, “We really feel like we’ve got the greatest fans in Pop history.” It would definitely focus on their rise to stardom over 30 years ago and how they’ve managed to sustain their success after all these years.
And that’s not all! Joey also has a brand new song dropping tomorrow called Own This Town! Joey was teasing the song on his Instagram a few days ago.
