It’s that time of year again: Hallmark Channel is finally releasing their Countdown to Christmas movies! One film, which will make its debut this weekend, is Jingle Bell Bride. Jingle Bell Bride Cast + Plot

Jingle Bell Bride follows Jessica Perez (Julie Gonzalo) as she’s on the hunt for a rare flower called the Jingle Bell Bloom for one of her client’s weddings. When she gets stuck in Alaska on her way back with the flower, she bonds with Matt (Ronnie Rowe Jr.), who gave her a ride from the airport and whose family gives her a place to stay.

Since Jessica is focused on making it back in time for the wedding, she might not realize that her own chance at happiness is right there with Matt. Can they make it work? Or will they need a Christmas miracle to make it happen?

Coincidentally, both film leads have previous sci-fi television experience. Fans of Supergirl may have seen Julie Gonzalo on season 5; Star Trek: Discovery fans may recognize Ronnie Rowe Jr. in his recurring role on the series.

A couple of Julie’s most notable roles have been as supporting characters in teen movies A Cinderella Story and Freaky Friday. She made appearances in Veronica Mars, and held main roles in ABC’s Eli Stone and the TNT reboot of Dallas. The latter got her two nominations: an Imagen for “Best Supporting Actress in Television” and an ALMA for “Favorite TV Actress in a Drama Series.”

Ronnie Rowe Jr. is a Canadian actor who, aside from his role in Star Trek: Discovery, is probably best known for his award-winning performance in 2017’s Black Cop. Ronnie won the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award for “Best Actor in a Canadian Film.” Another fun fact: Jingle Bell Bride was also filmed in Vancouver!
