The iconic 1990’s teen sitcom, Saved by the Bell, is making a return in an all-new reboot on Peacock!
The trailer for the reboot of the 90’s classic gives viewers a look into what’s happening at Bayside High School 30-years later, and even features some familiar faces including Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley.
As for what fans can expect, the Saved by the Bell reboot will follow the members of the original cast as they live out their adult years – Zack Morris is now the governor of California, and as he gets into some hot water after closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes the idea to send the affected students to higher performance schools, such as Bayside High – where A.C. Slater happens to be the gym teacher and Jessie Spano is the guidance counselor.
And not only do we catch up with the OG cast members, but we also get to know their kids as they attend their parent’s old stomping ground, Bayside High School, and get a dose of reality as their school gets an influx of new students from the low-income high schools in the area.
The reboot will acknowledge the 90’s version of the show as it brings back some of the most iconic characters, but fans can expect the new remake to be an “updated, edgier version” of the original show, as Mario Lopez said in an interview with Popculture.com.
