The hit 1999 film She’s All That is getting remade…into He’s All That. This new 2020 version not only reimagines the plot, but has TikTok star Addison Rae at the helm of the film. Keep reading for everything else to know so far about the She’s All That remake and what you can expect from Addison’s role.
What is Addison’s role in the film?
Addison will be portraying a character that’s in the same vein as Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Zack Siler from the original flick. If you’re not familiar, Zack was the popular, rich, All-American boy that took a bet to turn a nerdy girl (Rachael Leigh Cook) into the prom queen.
In the remake, Addison will be that same sort of popular, “It Girl,” who will be involved in a similar challenge. Sticking to the same theme as She’s All That, He’s All That will be from a girl’s perspective (presumable Addison’s character) as she turns a nerdy boy into prom king.
According to Variety, the 2020 version has the lead girl as an “influencer,” and if anyone knows anything about being an influencer, it’s TikTok’s Addison Rae! Aside from being the second most followed on TikTok, she’s amassed 27.4 million Instagram followers, and she’s the co-founder of Item Beauty. Is there anything she can’t do?
Any other details?
Addison announced the exciting news on her Instagram page, where she said that she “can’t wait” for everyone to meet Padget, which we can assume is her character name. Apparently the original film, She’s All That, is one of Addison’s all-time favorite movies, so she’s super excited to be a part of the remake, He’s All That.
This role will also mark Addison’s acting debut, and will be written by the same writer of She’s All That – R. Lee Fleming. It’s sure to be quite the teen film, as director of Mean Girls, Mark Waters is set to direct.
While there’s no release date yet, we’re excited to see Addison go from viral star to movie star! Be sure you’re following her on Instagram to see more updates.
