That is…true!
Kelly Clarkson might have been the first winner of FOX’s hit singing competition, ‘American Idol’ back in 2002 but there’s a good reason why she now prefers NBC’s ‘The Voice.”
She was a panelist on NBC Universal’s January Press Tour and spoke out when asked a few questions.

Kelly was asked if producers of the ‘American Idol’ reboot approached her to appear on the show. She said, “A lot of people reach out to me to be part of singing things because I was in the first one.”
She expresses her love for ‘The Voice’ saying, “It literally does come back to those blind auditions. It means something to me” having come in for a certain amount of criticism over the years because “I do not fit the pop-star image.”
Clarkson said this show sets itself apart from all the other singing competition shows simply because of those blind auditions. She expressed that she gets “judged on aesthetics all the time” and went on to say contestants get chosen “because they’re talented.”
Kelly Clarkson is a coach on ‘The Voice‘ which airs on NBC Mondays from 8-10pm and Tuesdays from 8-9pm.
