‘American Idol‘ is returning to your TVs in just a few days on February 16, 2020!
We love seeing all the hopeful idols audition in front of the judges, especially those young and in love couples. This season is no exception. Get ready to meet a cute couple – Margie Mays, 26, and Jonny West.
However, this isn’t the first time Margie will be on American Idol. In December 2019, Margie posted this throwback photo of herself singing in front of the judges on the Idol stage last year.
“ONE YEAR AGO. WHEN WE GOT A STANDING ⭕️ FOR “CALIFORNIA DREAMIN” WE WERE SO HAPPY. What I thought was actually going to the be the worst night ever / my demise ended up being SO fun. Now, she is back! One year later..Margie jumps back in front of Katy, Lionel and Luke. Check out this promo video below.
You may have even recognized her in the commercial promo for the show that was airing this past week – along with her boyfriend Jonny. “I’ve been getting a lot of messages, “so does this mean you’re coming back to the show??” Yes, I’m THRILLED to say it does ?❤️ @americanidol has blessed me in so many incredible ways. This may be Margie’s second time going on Idol, but it’s her boyfriend’s first. Jonny credits his girlfriend Margie for pushing him to audition for American Idol. He wrote this sweet message on Instagram, “Very very very grateful to have this opportunity and so appreciative of all the encouragement! @margiemaysmusic thank u for pushing me to try something that I never thought I would and believing that I could do somethin like this.”

While Margie often posts cute snaps of she and Jonny to her Instagram, it appears the pair started dating as recently as October 2018. She posted a photo with the caption, “birthday to my honey.” Aww.
