This year the theme for the Met Gala was ‘Heavenly Bodies’ which can be taken in many different directions which was clear on the red carpet. There were obvious favorites from this Met Gala, and some unexpected favorites.
Rihanna
The obvious favorite from this Met Gala was the always dazzling Rihanna, she never fails to impress everyone with her choices. This year she wore a bedazzled catholic styled cape and hat by Maison Margiela, Christian Louboutin shoes, Maria Tash jewelry, Cartier jewelry, and a custom Judith Leiber Couture clutch. Not only did she follow the theme but she looks fantastic in her dress, as always!
Stella Maxwell
Another favorite look was Stella Maxwell, who wore Moschino and David Yurman. Stella’s dress shape is very simple, but the details in the embroidering are incredible. There were many people wearing motifs on their dresses such as Ariana Grande, but this head to toe embroidering was incredible. She really does look like a ‘Heavenly body.’
Cardi B
Lastly Cardi B wearing Moschino, looks phenomenal even when she’s pregnant. The structure and the beading down the front of this dress, gave it a medieval feel. To add to the drama of this dress the head piece she wore made her look like a goddess, once again totally pulling off the Met Gala theme of ‘Heavenly Body’.
The Met Gala was filled with many beautiful dresses with beading or hand painted motifs. From simplistic to very dramatic the dresses at this years Met Gala were ‘Heavenly’.
