Demi Lovato always looks flawless – just check out her Instagram for proof! – and now you too can look just as cool as she does. Makeup artist Jill Powell gives the inside scoop on how she gets Demi performance-ready. Keep reading below for all the details!

FACE
Prime the face using Giorgio Armani Prima Smart Moisture Serum. Jill uses this because it stays put, even through performances. Koh Gen Do Foundation is another favorite of Jill’s to use on Demi because it gives a flawless finish to the skin, without looking caked up.
For a chiseled cheek, Jill recommends using a cool tone first to carve out the cheekbone, then use a warmer shade to blend it out. That way you’re kind of bronzing and contouring at the same time.

EYES
Velour Lashes are a go-to for the long, lush lashes. Jill uses them on Demi for special looks. She actually cuts the strip lashes so they go on easier and they’re “more comfortable to wear.”
For that pretty pop of blue underneath Demi’s eyes, Jill uses a matching eyeshadow overtop of the eyeliner to help it stay put. Make sure to use a waterproof eyeliner too!
LIPS
Jill said that she almost always goes for a peachy-pink nude color on Demi, especially when she’s rocking a colorful or smokey eye. Her favorite? MAC Cosmetics lipsticks.
