Can’t get much sweeter than this!

       Meet Lauren, a girl from Long Island, NY getting ready for her junior year in high school.  That means she’s also going to celebrate her Sweet 16, a very special birthday for girls all around the nation.  Also important to mention, Lauren is a big Chris Trousdale supporter.  Let’s go back to that very special night of July 27, 2006 for Lauren, her family, and the many guests that attended the party......

        Everyone was having a fantastic time enjoying the beautiful Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon, New York ( a part of Long Island).  Lauren and her guests many of whom were big Chris Trousdale fans were in for the surprise of their lives!  Little did they know Chris Trousdale was on his way to the Venetian Yacht Club that very night to surprise Lauren for her Sweet 16.  “Lauren gave me one of her personal invites for her Sweet 16 which I thought was really sweet of her, you could tell she really planned it out and really wanted me to be there,” Chris tells FTV as he remembers the night.  “A lot of the time for Sweet 16’s it’s really a matter of scheduling, and it just so happened that I didn’t have any shows or rehearsals or other schedule blocks along with the fact it was in close proximity to Manhattan, NY.” 

        Chris’s presence at her Sweet 16 was definitely a surprise.  “I had no clue Chris was coming. I had given him an invitation to my sweet 16 at one of the showcases but I didn’t think he was going to come because he had a show in New Hampshire the next day. I was so surprised and happy when he showed up!”   The DJ announced that there would be a special guest and Chris Trousdale burst into a room filled with many excited and surprised people!




 Chris described the hall for us as he saw it, “It was a U-Shaped hall.  The dj was in the middle, and the dining tables were all around and then there was a long, against one of the walls, was a long table with the most amazing food and desserts and all that it was delicious.”  He arrived with his dancers and was ready to take the center floor.  “I sang "Turn It Up," "Let Me Let Go,"  then I did a ballad.  I did "With All My Heart."  I sang it to her, I brought her up in the middle of the floor, it was really really sweet, it was really cool.”



What a dream this must have been for Lauren!  “My first thoughts that ran through my mind when I saw Chris was OMG no way , OMG Chris Trousdale’s at my sweet 16 ahh !”  The entire group at the party, especially the Chris fans, were very surprised and excited when he decided to stay and enjoy the party with everyone!  Could this night get much better?  Chris stayed and danced, ate, and laughed with everyone.  “I stayed for as long as Claudia, Daysha, and Louie wanted to.  I would have been there all night, it was so much fun.  I stayed pretty long, I think it was for an hour or two.”  What an incredibly special night. 


       Lauren shares the best memory of the night, “Dancing with Chris and him singing to me. It was so hard to believe he was there I wish I could redo the whole thing over again someday! It still feels like a dream that he had came and I’m also glad that he had brought his dancers with him too!”  It was a fun filled night where dreams came true, would Chris do another Sweet 16 show?  “Oh yeah!  I want to do Sweet 16s for as long as I'm doing this (performing), it's just so much fun to surprise them in the way it does.  It really makes me so happy, feels really good.”
