This/That
Fall/spring
-
BOTH :) That's really
hard because I love the Spring, but I think Fall is so romantic. :)
Outdoor
activity/indoor -
Wow, these are so hard... Outdoor in the Spring and Summer,
Indoor
in
the Fall and Winter
Broadway/film
-
Film...Well, I like
Broadway, too...I love Rent!..But,... I still have to say
Film
though.
Films can get up close and personal, and I
like that.
Singing/dancing
-
Singing...but I love
to dance, too!
Math/English
-
Umm I like Math a
lot, but English if I had to choose.
Do you
have any siblings? Can you tell us a little about your family?
Yes,
I have a younger
brother. He's 19; his name is Seanathan :) It's like Sean and
Jonathan combined..hehe.
Anyway, we get along really well, but we are just
different; he was
always the rebel. I, on the
other hand, am...the good
one... who just had a lot to say! :)
My
mom is an
inspiration! I know everyone says that, but she is the hardest
working
woman I know. And, she is insanely smart when it comes to
business and ...
just real life! My dad has also been really supportive. He's
really
musical, too :) He sings and plays guitar...he claims he gave
me the "talent"...
lol. ;)
Where
are you from
originally?
I
was born in San
Francisco. My parents were both born in Burma. I am half Chinese and
half
Burmese.
What
is your favorite
vacation spot?
I'm
not sure. I would
venture to guess Italy, but I've never been there ;) Once I go, I'll
let you
know. Out of the places that I HAVE been to, I'd say Hawaii or
New York.
Have
you always loved singing? When did you start?
I
started singing when
I could talk...or that's what my parents tell me anyway! I have video
tapes of me singing songs to the camera when I was two :) I
officially started
singing when I was eight, when I joined a church choir.
Were
you a part of all the school choruses and plays?
I
never really got
into my own high school theatre until I was a junior; I was always too
nervous around
the "drama" kids... I was never part of that group, so I felt like an
outsider. My senior year was my
first lead role in a
musical -- I played "Audrey" in Little Shop of Horrors! That
was amazingly fun! :) But outside of my own school, I did do
choruses and
plays at the Conservatory of Music in SF
since I was
12 :)
Do
you like acting as well?
Yes!
I love to act. I
think it's so fun. To me, it's so challenging though. I mean, with
singing it's
like...so easy, you know? But acting is a different
story - I
actually have to work at it...for this, I think actors are
incredibly
talented.
What
do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I
love just hanging
out with my friends and family. I like to travel as well...!
What
has been your favorite overall
performance you have taken part in?
Wow,
there have been
too many to name just one. But I love performing at schools.
It's such a rewarding experience when you can go to a school and be
able to
perform for people who really appreciate the music.
Do you have a music video out or plan
to put
one out?
Yes,
"Get Me
Off" is out. It will be on some MTV stations soon :) You can also see
it
on my official
website or my official myspace.
What
is the inspiration behind your CD “I Came to Play” ?
All
my songs are based
on personal experience, and I CAME TO PLAY is no different.
It's really a reflection of my experiences in the last year or so.
Any
tours/performances planned?
Yes,
I will be doing
some high schools, colleges, and clubs in selected cities in the
US. It's
not all planned out yet, but definitely check my website or myspace
page for
the latest! :)
Could
you give your fans and the FTV fans a special message ?
I
just want to say
THANK YOU to all of my fans who have supported me and support
the music in
the last couple of years to the present. You guys are the best! It's
been an
amazing journey and I hope that you will continue on with me :)
*Thank
you so much to Natalise for taking the time to do an interview
with us! We wish you all the best!
