Exclusive Intervew :: Kendall Gaveck

FTV: Please
tell us about yourself. How old are you? when
is your birthday? where did you grow up? Also, please
describe what your family is like. Do
you have any siblings?
A:
I just
turned 15 on July 20th. I was born in Chicago and I grew up in
Scottsdale, AZ. I live with my mom, dad, and my 16 year old brother
Collin and
our 3 dogs, Primo, Angel, and Buffy. Right now I am spending most of my
time in L.A. We have an apartment here and
my mom and I commute back and forth. It's really hard to have the
family split up but I just love what I am doing so much and my family
supports me completely! My brother has been so
cool about the whole thing.
FTV:
It's so important to have such a good support team. Is your
brother into music too?
A:
He loves to listen to music but he is not into performing or singing at
all.
He is all about sports.
 FTV: of
course! Do your mom and dad sing/perform?
A:
My dad sings but he
never did it professionally. We did a few community theater musicals
together when I was younger.
FTV:
When did you begin singing? Did you take part in school plays,
community
theater, music classes?
A:
I sang my first solo on
stage when I was 3. I have done over 40 muscials (both professional and
community theater), I sang the National Anthem
over 30 times for
profesional sports teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix
Suns,
the Phoenix Coyotes,
the
Chicago Cubs etc. I have taken voice lessons for years. I have also
been in
a touring musical to
prevent tobacco use in teens. There is a lot more but im sure you are
getting bored by now!!
FTV: haha no way, not getting bored. You have an extensive
list at only
15. What was your first big break? How were you
discovered?
A:
My first big break was probably when AOL and KOL (kids AOL) started
playing
some of my original music when I was 13. The people at AOL
and KOL were so sweet.
FTV:
Who have you had the chance to perform with? Who do you dream
of performing with someday?
A:
I haven't really had the oppurtunity to perform with other artists yet
but
if I did, I would love to perform with Christina Aguilera!!!
FTV:
She's an incredible singer, such a voice on such a small person!
A:
OMG
she is absolutely amazing!!!! I am actually working with
some of her producers
right now!
FTV: Wow, are you
really? That is fantastic. Maybe you'll get to
meet and collaborate with her!
A: That would rock!!
FTV:
Many
girls go through a lot of peer pressure in school, especially when they
reach their teen years. What has your experience with school
been
like? How have your friends and classmates reacted to your
success?
A:
Most
of the kids at
school have been extremely supportive but there will always be "mean
girls". You just can't let them get to you.
FTV:
Did
you see that movie, "Mean Girls" ?
A:
Of
course I have seen
that movie! Every girl my age can relate to it.
FTV:
We
heard you were officially signed by Sony, congratulations!!
What is it like being signed to Sony? What did the process
involve in
having them hear you leading to your signing?
A: Thank
you!!! After I
signed with Immortal Management, they got some of my songs to Sony and
I guess the people there really liked them! So now, I am signed and
working with some of the best writers and producers in the biz. I am
also doing alot of
co-writing and arranging on my own. It is so exciting!!!!
FTV:
That
is very exciting! Must feel surreal to you to see your dreams
coming true like this!
A:
It
does. I feel so
blessed to have been given this oppurtunity.
FTV:
What
are your first thoughts when you walk out on a stage for a
performance?
A:
Im
just so
psyched!!!! The energy is amazing and i love to rock it!
FTV:
We
ran a contest on Feeling The Vibe where many of your fans came out in
force to vote for your song, "Down" in FTV's Battle of the
Songs. The competition was tough! We would like to
officially congratulate you
on being our winner! What was your reaction when you found
out you
won?
A: I
was so surprised!!!
I have such amazing fans and i want to thank them all so much for
voting for me!!
FTV:
What
do you think of reality shows like MTV's Cheyenne and
Ashley Parker Angel's "There and Back?" Do you think they're
good for the music and the artist? Would you want a reality show of
your own?
A:
Cheyenne
and Ashley
are both so talented! I must admit, I do love watching those reality
shows but personally I would like to keep my private life
separate, and let my music speak for itself!!! But I would never say
never!!
FTV:
With
what you've seen and learned so far, do you feel American Idol is an
accurate depiction of how some of the process of becoming an artist
works? Or are they leaving a lot out?
A:
There
is A LOT that
goes on behind the scenes that they don't show on t.v. but, it does
seem like the true talent comes out in the end.
FTV: What
type of category would you say your music fits into best?
Do you write any of your songs? What is your inspiration
behind those
songs? Do you write them to or about specific people?
A:
My
music is a
combination of pop/rock with some club/dance beats and I am also doing
some pop/rock ballads. I am writing and co-writing all of my
material. My
inspiration comes from everyday life! Such as relationships with
friends, boys =) and all the
normal teen experiences!! I have written a few about specific people.
FTV:
Sounds
like you have a great mix of songs in the works. Can't wait
to
hear them. Do you have a CD in the works? What can your fans
expect to hear on the CD? Any title yet?
A:
I
am working on
material for my first album right now!!! No title yet, but you'll be
the first to know!! =)
FTV: We
know your fans just
can't wait to see you in concert.
Do you have any tours planned? If so, where and when?
A:
Not sure yet where, but it's in the works.
FTV:
Congratulations. You are officially a new artist on Feeling the Vibe!
A:
Yay!! Thanks!! Before

absolutely!
A:
I just
wanted to give a HUGE thanks to my amazing fans (especially the kids
on my Street Team!). Also to my managers, my family, my friends, but
