"All
the way from New York City….!”
Concert Review by FTV
Chris
Trousdale performed his incredible show at The Sad Café
in Plaistow, New Hampshire on July 28, 2006.
It was quite a rainy day as we were all
caught in a thunderstorm on the way from New York to New
Hampshire. It was raining pretty
steadily and yet a nice size group still came out to see the
show. The Sad Café is a
teen lounge with a special focus on musical entertainment.
It’s a rather large
room but gives off a cozy atmosphere with many tables and chairs, a
dance floor and stage. The walls of the Sad Café
aren’t covered by wallpaper or paint, nope, they’re
actually covered by signatures and notes from the many people
who have performed there. If you
happen to go back to the Sad Café, you’ll
be able to see Chris’s autograph on the wall to the right of
the stage. Let us know if you see
it!
While
warming up in the performer’s back room, Chad Perrone,
Chris’s opening act, started to play. Chad
is a guitarist and singer who has a nice repertoire of music which the
crowd enjoyed. He performed
for approximately 45 minutes and then held a meet and greet.
After that it was time
for Chris to get on the stage. With
Joe, Chris’s sound technician up in his DJ booth (it was very
cool!) Louie introduced Chris, “All the way from
NYC!!” to so many loud screams, the energy was great.
Chris jumped on stage with his amazing
dancers ready to perform. He talked
to the audience for a little while and then was ready for his
first song, “Love’s
Gonna Get Ya” an upbeat song that you
just have to dance to. As
usual his dancing and singing were crisp and excellent.
This was the “warm
up” as he called it, nice warm up!
That song was followed by "Tongue Ring"
another crowd favorite that had the group dancing to the
rhythms and screaming with excitement. Any
girls 5’3” out there? Haha
you know the song. It was
a huge hit. At that point Chris
wanted to take it down a little bit and perform a ballad.
He sang three ballads at this show!
This crowd was delightfully pleased with
each and every song.
One of the first ballads was the absolutely beautiful “With All My
Heart” which he hasn’t performed
in concert since last year! It’s
from Chris’s movie,
“The Biggest Fan” starring Chris, Kailah
Amariah, Cindy Williams, Richard Moll and more plus there are
scenes with Dream Street in it too. This
song can also be found on the
soundtrack for The
Biggest Fan.
Right
before Chris began to sing this amazing ballad, he asked the audience
if they liked his spiky hair or his longer "shag cut" hair.
Check out this video for the results:
During
“With
All My Heart” he called one of the
girls up on stage, and it happens to be one of our awesome FTVers
Ally! We were so happy for Ally as
Chris sang to her up on stage and even had Ally sing some of the song
which sounded so nice.
Great
job!
“With
All My
Heart” was followed by the hott dance song, “Turn
It
Up,” you have to see Chris and his
dancers perform this song for yourself in person, you will not believe
their moves! The crowd
was treated to a quick special lesson from Claudia as she
showed them how to do part of the dance in the song,
“Turn It
Up.”
At
this point Chris was ready to sing another ballad.
This time he treated the audience to the
very first listen of his performance of the newest song,
“If
Only” which he usually performs with Anna
Sundstrand. However, at
this concert Chris sang both parts! This
was his very first time singing that song alone, never tried
it, and wow he did it really well! The
crowd was swaying and feeling the emotions of the song, which
Chris described as a song about love and the emotions that one
goes through.
With Chris performing, you
knew that another high energy song would soon follow! His
energy really gets the crowd going. It was time for, “Play
It Like That,” the upbeat song with a
Russian flavor to it. Claudia, Chris’s
choreographer created a dance for this song that definitely has a
mysterious flare at first as they walk in to the sounds of the
song introduction. The audience felt the vibe of that song
for sure (had to
get it in there!!
Haha) and just loved it.
Time
for another ballad, we told you he sang three! Oh
wait, before he began his third ballad, he found out it was
one of his fan’s birthdays, actually two of them.
So he sang a sweet Happy
Birthday (with a Chris flare) to both of them, accapella.
Then the music began for his amazing
ballad, “Count
On Me” a song that will bring tears to your eyes
just listening to the words. It is
a song you can listen to over and over again and simply love
every time. The fans were in awe as
he sang to them. One girl
told us Chris sang to her and that was the very first time
anyone ever sang to her. It’s
something very special. Another
girl was pulled up on the stage by Chris as he hugged her and danced
with her during the song! It was
such a sweet moment.
It
was already time for the last song of the concert, and the audience
couldn’t believe it, just went too quickly, they
wanted more and more of Chris! Time
for, the hott pop/rock/electric guitar – “Let Me
Let
Go.” Everyone was screaming
their lungs out and dancing along as they watched Chris jump into this
high energy song
with intense
dancing that’s sensational and music that really gets you
going.
The
whole concert was a huge hit as everyone kept asking Chris to come back
again to New Hampshire. After
taking a break, Chris came back out to do a meet and greet with
everyone. He took pictures,
signed autographs, ate pizza (Chris didn’t have a
chance to eat dinner!) and the fans had an awesome time.
It
was great meeting you all there.
Thanks to everyone who
attended the show. Your energy and
excitement were awesome. Once again Chris gave
a fantastic show putting 110% of himself into it as always.
Thank you also to Linda at The Sad Cafe for all your help along the
way, much appreciated! Keep
watching Feeling the Vibe for more concert and Chris announcements.
Thanks!
