AWAY CELEBRATES ALBUM RELEASE WITH NON-STOP MEDIA TOUR
Canadian trio's fall schedule includes
Jump5 tour, BRIO Magazine cover story, numerous TV appearances and more
(NASHVILLE,
TENN.) -- Canadian trio Carried Away's
sophomore album, I Want You, will hit stores on
Tuesday in the midst of a media blitz and preparations for their
upcoming fall tour with teen phenomenon Jump5. Street week has sisters
Colleen and Pam Walker and their cousin Christine Prankard making the
media rounds including a stop at Radio Disney and television
appearances on Positively Arkansas (Little Rock's
CBS affiliate) on August 27th, Live at 9 (Memphis'
CBS affiliate) on August 28th, Good Morning Arkansas
(Little Rock's ABC affiliate) on August 30th and The Morning
Show (Tupelo's NBC affiliate) on August 31st.
The girls made a recent TV appearance on Live From Studio B
in July, and upcoming appearances include JCTV, Teen Girl TV,
The Jim Bakker Show, 100 Huntley Street, DeeperLiving, 7 Minutes,
Bridges, Top 3, ReachOUT TV and Control Track.
In addition, Carried Away will also be making numerous radio stops this
fall, including the nationally syndicated radio program, The
Coconut Hut Radio Show.
This fall, Carried Away will hit the road with Jump5 for a 30+ city
North American tour which runs from September 7th through the end of
the year. The Hello & Goodbye Tour is
sponsored by Shoutlife.com and Kingdom Kidz Club, and includes
additional performances by Jessie Daniels, Pure NRG, Sammy Ward and
Cali (in select cities).
In addition to their heavy tour schedule, the girls will grace the
covers of In the Times Magazine (September) and
Focus on the Family's BRIO Magazine (December), as
well as a September feature in Beautiful One Magazine
and online promotions at both HearItFirst.com and
NewReleaseTuesday.com, the latter of which will post an exclusive
podcast on August 28th.
Early reviews are raving about I Want You,
prompting Christianity Today Online to say,
"Carried Away just seems to get better with time in both music and
lyrics." Christian Single Magazine declares that
"Canada's Carried Away shines with its sophomore CD."
AlphaOmegaNews.org awards the album with an "A-" rating, and
ChristianRockersOnline.com tells readers that "With Christian groups
like Carried Away....the future of Christian music is in very good
hands."
Carried Away's debut album Closer To You (Word
Distribution) was Canada's best selling debut for 2005, and earned the
group two 2005 Covenant Awards (Canadian Gospel Music Association) for
Song of the Year ("I know”) and Pop/Contemporary Album of the
Year. Since the release of their critically acclaimed disc, they have
been touring full-time, including the Shoutfest Tour, Women of Faith
and Pure Fashion events, solo headlining dates and opening slots for
artists like Point of Grace, Casting Crowns and Avalon.
I Want You will be released on
Canadian label Glide Records on August 28th, with distribution in
Canada through CMC Distribution, and in the USA through Nashville-based
Infinity Music Distribution. "Mystery," the album's first radio single,
is being worked to radio now.
