Hi Amy! How old are you?
I'm 19 and a half
When's
your birthday?
June 30th
Where
are you from originally? Have you lived there all your life?
I was born and raised in Malden, MA which is about 10 minutes north of Boston.
I love it there so much!
Please
tell us a little bit about your family. Do you have any siblings?
What are their names/ages if so?
Yeah, Boston is pretty big and it's so close to my home which is
awesome! I
have an older half sister who is 30 and her name is Joanna and I have a
younger
brother who is 17 and his name is Gary! My brother is a drummer and
I've gotten
the chance to perform with his band a few times which was a lot of fun.
What
do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I love to hang out
with my
friends and boyfriend, go to the
movies, out to eat, and most of all SLEEP! I also like to get my hour
in at the
gym everyday!
When
did you start singing?
I
swear I came out of the womb singing. I've been
singing since I could pretty much talk! I was always performing at
family
parties and putting together these elaborate shows with my cousins! I
started
taking lessons when I was in 8th grade and was in my highschool chorus
and
started recording and finally having the opportunity to put my words to
music
about 2 and a half years ago.
Do you enjoy writing music or
writing the lyrics?
I usually come up with the melody as I'm writing the lyrics. I can't
physically
put the music into musical notation so when I get into the studio I
usually
sing the song for the producer I'm working with and we come up with the
best
instruments for the track and start writing the music together.
I'm so
happy to be so involved with everything that goes along with my music
and this
business from the writing, recording, booking of performances, etc.
So
many performers don't have that kind of artistic input unfortunately.
Sounds
like you have a great team working with you!
Yeah I work at Bristol Studios in Boston! They are so amazing
and have
helped me out so much!
How
would you describe your musical style to those out there who have never
heard your music before?
I would say it is a unique blend of pop and rock. Something
that you can
rock out to and dance to!
What
would you say sets you aside from other artists hitting
the scene?
Every
one of my songs has a strong message. I think that it is
important to
include that in music so it's not meaningless. I also think
that my voice
is different and unique. I don't think I really sound a lot
like anyone
out there right now. My music is also very varied.
I am influenced
by so many different kinds of artists and that is definately reflected
in my
music.
What
types of performances have you given up to this
point? Where have you performed?
I
have performed in so many different
venues. I've performed at benefit events like the Breast
Cancer 3-Day
walk, Radio Concerts like the Kiss 108 Merry Matty Kissmass Breakfast,
private
parties like the Boston Celtics party I did last winter, clubs, parades
lol
I've done it all! I've
performed in
Massachusetts, New Hamphsire, Maine, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode
Island! I'll be performing in Florida and Canada this summer
and are
hoping to tour in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Cali!
That must be such a rush, being
up there in front of your
fans. Where will you be performing next?
I
love being on stage and I'm also a dancer so I love to incorporate that
when I
can as well! I'm a little pyro too lol I love fire,
explosions, fog, and
lots of lights! I have three shows this weekend! They are all
holiday
shows which will be a blast! Friday I will be in Haverhill,
MA, Saturday
I'm in Boothbay Harbor, ME, and Sunday at the Prudential Center in
Boston, MA!
Do you have a special message for
your fans?
Thank
you all so much for your continued love and support! I
definately
wouldn't be here without you guys!
